I’m Anna Harper and I’m a poet and artist.Welcome to my world.
I call myself a mixed media artist because my work combines both art and writing. I love working with both forms and lose myself in my art.

Writing is a huge part of my life – when I write I feel free. My inspiration comes from everyday life and the challenges associated with my disability.

I write poetry about what’s going on in my life, from my disability to my everyday activities such as horse riding, gardening, cycling with my father, art of all kinds and being a social butterfly. I use some of my artwork to illustrate my poetry – inspiration for my drawings and paintings comes from the world around me – I can lose myself in a moment!

I have always dreamed of becoming an artist and writer, letting people see into the unknown world of Anna Irene Harper.  During my early childhood I developed a brain injury and use a wheelchair, but this hasn’t stopped me from living my life to the full with support. I make and sell greetings cards in the hope of sharing my experiences and encouraging people to reflect on their own lives.
